All favorites of mine. Besides the black-eyed peas, we are having spareribs and sauerkraut…that way my husband and I have all are bases covered for a lucky year ahead. 🙂
Our family for 3 generations has served boiled potatoes, corned beef or roast beef, and cooked cabbage on New Year’s Day. The chef puts a dime in the cabbage and the one who finds it has great luck in the coming year. Must be our scot-irish heritage… Enjoying your blog. Happy New Year… Sue

Sue, that sounds like a delightful tradition! No matter what time of year, a good dish of corned beef and cabbage warms the soul. I’m so glad you are enjoying the blog too!
My black-eyed peas are cooked…must have them on New Year’s Day. All the best in 2014.
I’m cooking beans, collards and cornbread and lots of other things all day. Loving it!
Happy New Year Karen!
